The 2008 Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation Signature Ball was an unprecedented success, with guests and supporters revelling in the performances by three wonderful female singers, invited as part of the Balls 'Diva' theme.

As we have come to expect from the previous SACF events, the sumptuous four course meal and fine matched wines perfectly enhanced the glitz and glamour of the Signature Ball.

As in the past, a large number of businesses, corporate supporters and individual sponsors generously donated spectacular auction items for the event and ball attendees rose to the challenge by spending generously. In all $340,000.00 was raised to fund research into finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Saturday 8th August, 2009 heralded the Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation 2009 Signature Ball which was another wonderful evening, setting another incredible precedent.

The opening performance was electrifying as the solo violinist, Sally Cooper, set the tone for the evening and whose performance was a precursor for what was to come. The 45 piece Australian Pops Orchestra accompanied the performances of the Soprano, Suzanne Shakespeare and Tenor, David Rogers-Smith who captivated the entire audience.

The Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation 2009 Signature Ball was attended by many loyal supporters. As the event is becoming more prominently recognised in the social calendar, numerous additional corporate businesses and individual newcomers were welcomed. The guests dined on the sumptuous menu prepared by Crown's renowned Chefs which was accompanied with an exquisite wine and beverage selection. The Big City Beat Big Band provided the perfect accompaniment for the guests to dance to their heart's content!

The evening also provided many fundraising opportunities. Mystery Bags were purchased at the beginning and throughout the evening, a major raffle comprising of a Nissan Micra was conducted during the evening, there was an assortment of Silent Auction items available for purchase, together with the regular "Fund a Cure" segment concluding with a Verbal Auction offering varied and highly prized and sort after experiences. As a result of the generous support throughout the evening a resounding $370,000.00 was raised. All the proceeds are allocated to the best diabetes research in Australia.

The Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation 2010 Signature Ball ~ Crown Ballroom

In its 25th year, the Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation (SACF) Signature Ball is one of the oldest and arguably the most prestigious event of its kind in the country. The event was founded by Susan Alberti, AO, HonLLD to support fundraising efforts for Australian medical research, namely progress towards finding a cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Due to the Foundation's efforts, almost $5 million has been raised from this event and donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) which funds Australia's best and most promising diabetes research.

In order to mark this momentous milestone and recognise the progression of type 1 diabetes research, the 2010 Signature Ball was held on Saturday 7 August at the Palladium, Crown Towers, Melbourne.

World class entertainment featured Guy Sebastian, the renowned and dynamic Kate Ceberano and Carl Riseley, the Australian Idol 2007 contestant hailed as the next Harry Connick Jnr.

In addition to world class music and entertainment, this year's event had a silent auction, live auction, mystery bags and an unique segment called "Fund-A-Cure" that sees supporters make direct pledges to research through tax-deductible donations on the night.

The Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation 2011 Signature Ball ~ Grand Banquet Room, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation Signature Ball is arguably Melbourne's most prestigious social calendar event. Founded 25 years ago by Susan Alberti, AO, HonLLD, to support fundraising efforts for Australian medical research, namely progress in finding a cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes.

This year the event moved from the Crown Ballroom to the recently opened MCEC. The 2011 Ball again showcased some of Australia's finest talent with this year's line-up including Jessica Mauboy accompanied by musical director Chong Lim and the Chong Lim Orchestra.
