Collaborative thinking to change the future
In partnership with AgriFutures Australia, EMG launched a unique international technology event specifically for the food and farming community called evokeAG. at The Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne on February 19 - 20, 2019. evokeAG. sold out in its first year in market.

Using design thinking, we had to build the brand from the ground up: designing the branding, strategy, website and language as well as the event structure, production and experience. Furthermore, EMG worked closely with AgriFutures Australia to curate the speakers, conversations and topics for over 115 speakers across 30 sessions, from global ‘world firsts’ to the Future Young Leaders program.

Australian first “Braindate”
EMG introduced and Australian first technology “Braindate” which empowers humans to connect by tapping into the experiences and expertise of people around them.

We partnered with e180 out of Montreal to bring this tech into our event and create meaningful connections. The Braindate app allowed attendees to post topics and connect, share and learn from each other, either one on one or in group discussions.

At evokeAG. 122 topic were created which resulted in 105 one on one Braindates and 27 group Braindates. Without the advent of this innovation these connections would not have been possible.

Our challenge in developing the event brand was that those in the industry were having very strong singular conversations, and we needed to bring them together.

A common and unique theme in the Australian agriculture industry is the use of “AG” so we knew this had to form part of our vernacular. The second piece of the puzzle was to inspire people for change and to think differently.

From this evokeAG. the brand was born with the language of “collaborative thinking to change the future” it became the platform to connect all conversation around and about the event.

2020 and beyond

The 2020 event will be a continuation of the conversation and focus on drawing delegates from the entire agriculture ecosystem from across the Asia Pacific region and internationally covering: farmers, startups, innovators, accelerators, researchers, universities, businesses, corporates, government and investors.

We will also be on providing a bigger platform for startups to showcase their technologies and create deal flow and investment into this exciting sector.
