When asked to deliver the VACC Centenary Events program for 2018, celebrating 100 years of this iconic automotive brand across three events, our team understood the deep significance of this milestone.
Opening the celebrations with 1000 guests converging at Crown Palladium we designed a huge brand history visual timeline as guests entered the venue for the VACC VIA Awards.
Nine months it took to design, create, prepare and produce curated onscreen content to capture what 100 years in business looked like. Using an enormous 30m x 18m indoor LED screen (the largest to ever been fitted in Crown) this scale allowed guests to feel the immense pride the brand has in its history, and future excitement for the next 100 years in business.
The VACC centennial celebrations continued with 100 iconic vehicles from different decades arriving at Calder Park in the early hours to meet a live cross to Channel 9 TODAY show. Waved off by event ambassador, Shane Jacobson, the fleet of vehicles hit the road in convoy to the City of Greater Bendigo where VACC first started out as an organisation.
Executed with logistic know-how, the 100 cars arrived for all to see at the Cavalcade Stage and Centennial Show 'n Shine at Bendigo Town Hall Precinct – with the event design nodding to the iconic cavalcade held in Pebble Beach, California.
Recognising the artistry and craftsmanship of bygone eras, Shane Jacobson educated guests about the features of each of the 100 cars as they were brought onstage for all to see.
"Throughout this journey EMG again demonstrated their ability to create, design and tailor a customised guest experience that honoured the VACC and recognised its members.
The Show 'n' Shine incorporated a Pebble Beach experience that was crafted by EMG, a first time attempt in Australia - 100 different vehicles from 100 different years were driven onto a customised ramp and recognised individually. These events were again an enormous success for VACC with record breaking attendance numbers"
